Established in 2013 in Barry, South Wales - Mack Events is an event production company built on experience, community, and a genuine love for live events. From 200-capacity pub gigs to 18,000-visitor festivals, we deliver.

OUR STORY
From Barry to the big stage.
Mack Events started with a simple idea - put on great events for the local community. What began as small gigs in pubs and social clubs across Barry quickly grew into something much bigger. Today, we produce festivals, manage large-scale events, supply professional equipment, and book acts for venues and promoters across South Wales and beyond.
Our flagship event, GlastonBARRY Tribute Festival - draws over 18,000 visitors every year to Barry, and has become one of the most-loved community festivals in Wales. But we're just as proud of the hundreds of smaller events we've delivered - local community events, rugby fanzones, charity fundraisers, weddings, and corporate events.
We're family-run, deeply rooted in our community, and we bring the same care and professionalism to a 200-person gig as we do to a three-day festival.

April 2013
Mack Events founded in Barry, South Wales by cousins Matt Blumberg and Ross Mackintosh. Concentrating on after dinner events with high profile sporting stars - Paul Merson / Jan Molby / Ray Parlour / Neil Ruddock & more...
September 2013
First GlastonBARRY Festival launched for around 400 guests at the Memo Arts Centre, Barry.
2014
Mack Events expanded into corporate events and moves GlastonBARRY Festival to Romilly Park in year 2 attracting around 500 people.
2015
The festival doubled in size by 2015, with a capacity of 1000 and continued to grow year on year from then on.
2018
By 2018 we were attracting around 8,000 guests to GlastonBARRY Tribute Festival, now a large 2 day - outdoor event, held at Romilly Park, Barry.
2019
GlastonBARRY Juniors launched on the Friday of the weekend, attracting a family audience.
2020-21
Covid-19 caused two back to back postponements of the festival, Company Director Ross Mackintosh decided to leave the company and pursue a different path.
2022
A tough first year back after Covid, but the company was back on track. Matt expands the team and brings in other family members and friends to expand the company.
2023
GlastonBARRY Fringe Festival is launched, a Community Arts Festival in Barry, aimed at giving back to the community. New equipment purchased and our hire division is launched.
2025
The hire and events management side of the business has expanded, it now works with a wide range of local festivals, organisations and events, providing staging, sound, lighting, entertainers and event consultancy to an extensive group of clients.

Matt Blumberg
Founder & Director
Matt co-founded Mack Events in 2013, with a passion for live events and a deep connection to the Barry community. A passionate musician and DJ from the age of 17, with over 25 years of hands-on experience - from DJ sets and live gigs in local pubs and events, to managing 18,000-visitor festivals - Matt leads every project with the same energy and attention to detail.

With around 20 years experience of installing CCTV, AV and other systems, Craig's eye for detail has become a huge asset to Mack Events. Now overseeing all equipment hire, managing our depot & warehouse, maintaining and installing all equipment on site and leading our team of crew on site.

Hayley Blumberg
Company Director & Office Manager
Hayley is our business and client service manager, she manages our Barry Office and oversees our admin and marketing teams. Hayley also looks after 'Party Bookings Wales', our wide network of performers, entertainers, bands and tribute artists. If you need a certain act for your event then drop Hayley a message!

Ash has been helping to deliver GlastonBARRY now for the past 4 years. With a keen eye for detail and a fantastic enthusiasm for live events. There is nobody better to have in your corner. Part of the 'make it happen' club, Ash does exactly that, and goes the extra mile to make sure that you get the desired outcome for your event.

COMMUNITY
More than a business.
Community is at the heart of everything we do. In 2022 we launched Comet CIC - our Community Interest Company - to formalise our commitment to giving back to Barry and the Vale of Glamorgan. We have been running GlastonBARRY FRINGE Community Arts Festival annually since then.
We're proud to support local artists, musicians, and performers by giving them platforms to showcase their talent. We partner with local colleges and universities to offer work experience and voluntary positions at our events, and we work closely with Value in the Vale - a council-run scheme that rewards volunteering in the local community.
We also love working with local businesses, charities, and organisations - offering sponsorship opportunities at each of our events. If you'd like to get involved, perform at one of our shows, or explore a partnership, we'd love to hear from you.
